I was born and raised in East Ridge, Tennessee, the youngest of seven children of Ray and Helen Solomon. My parents were well known in the community as owners and operators of a camera store with locations in Chattanooga and North Georgia for over thirty-five years. My mother was also an elementary and middle school teacher in Walker County for many years.

I worked in my parent's camera store in East Ridge from an early age which started my life-long love of photography. Competitive swimming was a big part of my life when I was in grade school and I remember fondly my teammates and coaches. Later in life when my children were young I was able to repay the kindness showed by those coaches by volunteering as a coach for the Mountain Shadows Swim team for over fifteen years. I still enjoy swimming for exercise with the YMCA Masters program and have even competed in a few Masters pool and open water events.

I attended UTC, made many life-long friends in the Kappa Sigma fraternity while there, and graduated with a finance degree in 1985. Following my natural inclination to argue with everyone, I went on to law school in Cincinnati but returned to Chattanooga to practice law after graduation.

In 1993 | married my beloved wife Diana and this past Spring we celebrated thirty years of marriage. We have two wonderful and talented daughters, Haley and Lauren who both live in Chattanooga. I was able to celebrate one of the proudest moments of my life walking Haley down the aisle at her wedding just this past September.

In 2000 I moved my injury and disability law practice to Dalton, Georgia and in 2011 became the owner of the McMahan Law Firm in Dalton. Since then, the firm has grown to three lawyers and eight staff. One of our most important core values at the law firm is "supporting our local community." I could not have found a more meaningful way to do this both personally and professionally than through the support of Primary Healthcare Centers and Dancing with the Stars.

Professionally, I work every day helping people piece their lives back together from devastating work injuries and accidents. Both my staff and I see firsthand the difficulty our clients face obtaining medical care. Our whole law firm toured one of PHC's school healthcare facilities and were very moved by the work that they do, especially for children. From a personal standpoint, I remember my mother working at a school very much like the one that we toured and could not be prouder to now be supporting such an organization.

Please come out and support me at Dancing with the Stars North Georgia and in turn support this very worthy organization. For those of you who know I am the first on the dance floor (and also maybe the goofiest), I can promise you will be entertained!
